    Elementary School 

    Elementary Picture Day is tomorrow – Thursday, October 17 th ! Order forms were sent home to fill-out and return or you can order pictures online.

    SAVE THE DATE!! The Fall Festival is taking place on Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Elementary School.  Back this year will be TRUNK-OR-TREAT – and the Community Education Family Wellness Fair! Information on these events will be coming home with students! The parents, students and community members are invited to decorate a trunk. Entry forms in the elementary school office.

    After-school Youth Tumbling. Mrs. Carson looks forward to seeing our tumblers on Monday, October 21, 28 and Tuesday, October 29.

    Cal-Mum PTO and our elementary students are selling Leo’s Pies and other treats as a fundraiser! There are order forms in all the offices if interested in purchasing anything. Orders and money are due by October 23. All proceeds will go to future events for our students!

    The Elementary PTO is raffling off a Yeti Tundra 65 Cooler plus a 20 oz. rambler and 10 oz. tumbler – tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in the elementary office.  Drawing will take place at Fall Fest on Oct. 19th.

    That completes the morning announcements.  Everyone have a WONDERFUL DAY FULL OF LEARNING!

    Middle School

     

    School photo retakes are a week from today. Please remember to have your photo taken if you missed the original picture day. If you would like a retake, please bring your original photo envelope to turn in.

    Congratulations to our Fall Varsity Cheerleading team on their performance at the Livingston County competition last night in Dansville. They did an excellent job representing Cal-Mum in their first and most challenging competition. For our next competition, we’ll be in Avon on Saturday. Please come out and support!

    The class of 2024 would like to congratulate the No Name team for winning the 2019 Cal-Mum Middle School Dodgeball tournament last Thursday night. Congratulations to Evan, Colby, Jackson, Tyler, and Liam.

    Any seventh graders interested in joining the math team please bring your lunch to Mrs. Geary's room tomorrow for an informational meeting.

    Attention Science Club members: If you signed up to collect cans and bottles during your study hall, please check the sign-up sheet outside Mrs. Hatch's classroom. If you missed the meeting or are willing to take on another day, please sign up on the same sheet. Thank you!

    A reminder that modified girls basketball paperwork is due to Mr. Mervine
    by Friday.

    DC travelers, a reminder that your luggage needs to be in the middle school office by noon today.

    High School

    Cal-Mum Community Education is holding the 5 Hour Pre-license Class here at school on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8 a.m. This class is required in order to sign up for a NYS road test (unless the student completes Driver Education). Please call 538-3449 to register or email ssantora@cal-mum.org.  

    Anyone interested in running indoor track should sign up on the list outside of the track office across from the Middle School gym.  If you have any questions see Mr. Harrington or an indoor track team member.

    This year, we are starting a series called Lunch & Learn during Home Base time.  Each month we will work to present Careers across a variety of disciplines to help you plan for life after High School.  Home Base is a time set aside for academic assistance. Make sure you plan to participate in Lunch & Learns you are interested in by keeping up with your course work!

    Our first Lunch & Learn on October 25th will be Careers in Law Enforcement.  An Officer will discuss the differences in local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.  What a typical day in Law Enforcement can look like, what the requirements are and what to expect when you enter the Police Academy.  Sign up in Guidance and in the High School office so Officer Klewicki know to expect you.

     

    Students in the Spanish Club attending the Hispanic Ballet performance on Nov. 5, permission slips are due this Wednesday.

    In honor of LGBT History Month, the Spectrum Club will be having a Lunch and Learns this Thursday during Home Base where we will be exploring the lives of some important figures in LGBT history.  Please join us in Room 118 if you are interested in learning more about this topic.  Also, Spectrum Club is asking you to wear PURPLE this Thursday, October 17th to show your support and take the pledge against bullying!

    Brainstormers will meet in Mrs. Callanan’s room Friday during both lunches.

    Students interested in traveling abroad in 2021, there will be an informational meeting this Fri., in Mrs. Romaguera’s room at 11:30.  Join us to learn more about this trip.

    The next Yearbook meeting will be next Tues., Oct. 22nd.  Also, Seniors, be sure to get your Senior Photos and quotes submitted.

    Auditions for the Spring musical “Beauty and the Beast” will be Monday and Tuesday, November 4th and 5th at 6:30.
