The Caledonia-Mumford Central School Athletic Program is one steeped in pride and tradition. Cal-Mum has embraced a philosophy that a well-rounded athletic program is an integral part of the Cal-Mum educational mission. The development of the human spirit, mind and body is an underlying theme in athletics. Cal-Mum athletics will continue to serve our student/athletes for these qualities as well as fostering a safe, fun, and friendly environment for our student/athletes to develop character, integrity, loyalty, and a strong sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Cal-Mum is proud that a large number of our student body participates in athletics. These students will not only develop athletics skills by working with our outstanding coaching staff, but will also benefit from an athletic philosophy that promotes fitness for life, and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle free of drugs and alcohol.
Students may participate in interscholastic sports beginning in seventh grade. Cal-Mum offers:
- 42 teams in 17 sports (including varsity, junior varsity, modified A and B programs.)
- Teams and student/athletes have distinguished themselves by winning records and championships in the Livingston County Athletic Association, Section V and New York State competitions.
- Many teams also have been recognized for their team grade point average through the NYSPHSAA “Team Scholar-Athlete” program. We have been awarded the NYSPHSAA School of Excellence Award the past 4 years and in 2021-22 we earned the School of Distinction Award as all of our complete teams earned scholar athlete status.
- In 2021-22, we were extremely excited for the first time to be able to offer Unifed Basketball through a merger with local schools. Genesee United competed in Section V and we plan to build on the success of this awesome program.
We have some of the finest athletic facilities in Section V. There is a deep appreciation for the coaches, parents, faculty, administration, alumni, and fans that have helped make Cal-Mum Athletics a first-class program.
