    New York State Education law provides that all children in New York State in proper physical and mental condition between the ages of  six and through the year in which they turn 16 shall attend school while it is in session.

     

    Parents are requested to call school the morning that their child is absent and state the reason for the absence.

        

    Excused Absences

    The following are excused absences:

    Sickness

    Sickness or death in the familiy

    IMpassable roads or weather

    Religious observance

    Quarantine

    Required to be in court

    Music lessons

    Remedial health treatment

    Approved cooperative work programs

    Approved College viisit

    Military obligation

     

    Any absence due to reasons other than above is unexcused. All children absent from school must, upon their return, furnish school  authorities with a written excuse stating the reasons for their absence.  Excuses must be dated and sgined by the child's parent or guardian.

     

    A student who has an unexcused absence during the day may not attend any after school functions on that day.
