November 1, 2019

Dear Caledonia-Mumford Parents and Guardians:

The Caledonia-Mumford Central School District has developed a District-Wide School Safety Plan that addresses responses to various emergencies.  Commissioner’s Regulation 155.17 requires annual practice drills of the emergency responses contained in our plans.

All Cal-Mum schools must practice an emergency closing drill each school year. Our drill will take place on Friday, November 22, 2019.  Closing school due to an emergency during the school day requires a great deal of coordination among teachers, office staff and our transportation department. Practicing these procedures is an important step to assure that students are transported home safely during a real emergency.

Students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM.  All students will follow the normal procedures for dismissal except for those students in which parents have provided the Elementary Office with the Emergency Early Dismissal form. We will follow the information on the form in terms of where we send the students.

This early dismissal drill will not affect students attending all day BOCES Special Education programs, afternoon BOCES Career & Technical classes, or private/parochial schools.   Students in these programs will have drills scheduled in their respective schools.

If you have any questions regarding these drills, please call the respective building principal.

Sincerely,

Robert Molisani
