Universal Pre-kindergarten Information

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the safety protocols that must be maintained during the pandemic, we will not be hosting an in-person pre-kindergarten information night as we have in the past.  

Instead, we created a set of Looms (videos) that can be viewed by all families that would like to learn about our wonderful UPK program.  

These Looms will be emailed to families and are posted here

This school year, we will be mailing registration packets to UPK parents that are in our database.  If you know of a family that did not receive a packet of information because they were not in our database, please let them know that they need to contact Mrs. Shannon Laursen to register their child at 538-3445 or begin the registration process online.  After they contact Mrs. Laursen, she will send these families a registration packet and enter them in our database so they will receive future mailings.   

Once again, our UPK Program will be a half-day (morning or afternoon), 5 days/week. Morning or afternoon classes will be created after the registration period. Parents/guardians will be required to provide transportation to and from school.   Eligibility for the program includes the following:

  • Child must be 4 years old by December 1, 2021 (any child 5 years old by Dec. 1st is not eligible)
  • Child must meet all medical record requirements for school attendance
  • Child must make a commitment to regular daily attendance

The registration period for this program will commence on January 20, 2021, and remain open. The registration information will be utilized to create classes and place students in morning or afternoon sessions.  Included in the registration forms is a UPK Session Survey form.  Please complete this form and return it to notify us if you can provide transportation for the morning session, afternoon session or both the afternoon and morning sessions. It is our goal to attempt to accommodate your session preference due to daycare or transportation arrangements.  

In the event that we can’t accommodate all of the session preferences, we will utilize a random selection process to place students in afternoon or morning sessions. If it is required, this will take place at the Board of Education meeting on May 11th. 

I am hopeful that many parents will state that they can provide transportation for both the morning and afternoon sessions to provide us with the required flexibility to accommodate all requests.

Please complete and return you child's pre-kindergarten registration paperwork if you have not already.
